The ASIS Chicago Monthly Luncheons have a new name!

Join ASIS Chicago on Thursday, March 15th for the March Monthly Meeting and Seminar.

Monthly meetings provide ASIS Chicago members an opportunity to network with one another while also receiving updates on local Chapter and ASIS International initiatives and events. Chapter members will have an opportunity to discuss local safety and security trends before hearing from a pre-eminent speaker in the industry on a variety of relevant topics. Registration includes admission and lunch.

Craig Vargas

Craig Vargas is the owner of Elite Counter Smuggling, LLC a new Physical Security Training company in Chicago who specializes in physical security penetration testing and developing hands on training and presentations for all levels of physical security. He started his career with TSA in 2007 as an Officer and quickly rose through the ranks to find himself already at TSA’s Headquarters in 2009 assisting in writing national policy and procedures for security operations across the country at the age of 22. Within four years of working on projects at TSA’s HQ he had assisted in writing three SOPs, became a national SME on security procedures to a workforce of 40,000 employees, Co-Authored the Quick Reference Guides that consolidated all TSA SOPs by 74% when the benchmark by the Administrator was set at 50%, and finally directed a new set of training videos that became the national standard for training all officers across the country.

In between these projects he specialized in learning the art of smuggling weapons and explosives past security checkpoints as well as the social engineering techniques to assist in his deception. Craig has developed highly unique techniques which are presented on an annual basis to the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI), the groups that come to Chicago annually to be a part of this are the FBI, NSA, CIA, DEA, USSS, and many more to include all branches of the military. With over 10 years of experience, over 8,000 covert smuggling operations under his belt as well as over 2,000 classes trained, he is adept to go into any physical security operation and quickly find it’s flaws and train the security workforce on their gaps and develop hands on training courses to ensure the utmost level of security awareness.
